Nanjing

The modern charm of the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties

Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province, stands as a significant political, economic and cultural hub in eastern China, while also serving as a vital center for transportation and technological innovation. In recent years, Nanjing has consistently been ranked among China's most livable cities and recognized for its balanced urban development.
However, the city's rapid modernization has never overshadowed the profound historical legacy that defines its character. The rich tapestry of ancient capital heritage, as you can imagine, will captivate you while you are walking along the majestic City Wall, contemplating history at the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, admiring the architectural wonder of the Porcelain Tower, and reflecting beside the Qinhuai River.
Of course, Nanjing has much more to offer than just historical sites: exquisite Jiangnan cuisine, vibrant Xinjiekou nightlife, serene Xuanwu Lake cycling, and immersive local cultural experiences.

Featured experience

This cultural observation focused on two intangible cultural heritages: Nanjing Yun Brocade and Jinling Sutra Engraving. We witnessed the dazzling, complex loom-weaving of Yun Brocade, where silk and gold form "inch-for-inch gold" patterns. At the scripture center, we observed the serene, precise craft of woodblock carving and printing, a testament to spiritual devotion. Both represent living legacies of transcendent skill and patience.

Food tour

Nanjing's food culture offers a delightful journey for the senses. The city is famed for its Nanjing Salted Duck, known for its tender meat and delicate flavor, and the comforting Duck Blood and Vermicelli Soup. Among the must-try Specialty Snacks are crispy Beef Pot Stickers and juicy Xiaolongbao. For a truly imperial experience, the legendary Qinhuai Snacks, featuring the exquisite "Eight Wonders and Sixteen Tastes," showcase the refined culinary heritage of the ancient Qinhuai River district.
